TRUMP'S ELECTION: Some Thoughts about the 2016 American Presidential Race

    The 2016 election 
    was like standing in front of a urinal
    and expecting the piss
    to fall in a certain way . . . 

    Then surprise, surprise!
    through some Russian roulette
    the piddle-streams twisted
    & Electoral College
    went astray
    as a pubic pundit
    & public menace
    carried the day
    while Putin smiled
    & American democracy went d
    own the drain.


Ted:   Trump's election reveals the sham that America has become. Money is 
       paramount and at this point in history, capital is concentrated in 
       the hands of a few.

Tim:   That might be, but it seems corruption is endemic throughout human 
       history. As long as greed is in our hearts, it will manifest.

Kris:  (sighing) Hmm. Post-democratic America is infected with corruption, 
       and America does not seem so different from Russia. It is essentially 
       an oligarchy.

Terri: (with a touch of satire) Tsk! Tsk! Why such pessimism? If you watch 
       Fox News and stop reading all subversive literature, things won't 
       look so bad!
