Lotus Dreams

From the trash of our civilization
can fresh flowers bloom?
From the rotting intestines of consumerism
doesn't destruction loom?

Do the garbage heaps of history
harbor seeds of productive change?
Is each society's zenith
but a crest to its decay?

Sift through the dustpiles of history!
Examine the floatsam of our hertigage!

Understanding how things came to pass
an unravel the turns of this dance.

Before enjoying the luxury of pride,
reflect on the time frame you've sampled
& question how far it is wide.

Remember
while sifting through all debris
that things which now
in ruin stand
were once adored
as magnificent & grand.

Soo: Huh? Does civir-rization amount to "trash"? Isn't it a mixed baggu?
Ellesha: It depends on the time frame. In the long run, everything is trash – but have no fear: eventually alpha touches omega and we come full-circle again.
Andrei: Well, one thing is certain . . . this poem iz trashhhh!
