Chain Reaction - an art work by T Newfields
Satoru: Sometimes it seems as if wars start off like chain reactions. Once tensions have risen high enough, all it takes is a mere spark to set off a conflagration.
Ying: (nodding) That's true. The conditions that prelude war and foster conflict often build up gradually for years or decades.
Frida: What we need to do is learn create conditions in which war would become unthinkable.
Satoru: (with a satirical chuckle) No doubt. However, given human history so far, it is hard to envision how that could be possible.
