Answer:These words are very similar. "Affluent" has a narrower range of meaning than "rich", as show by these examples: O The flavor is rich. X The flavor is affluent. O Tofu is rich in protein. X Tofu is affluent in flavor. "Affluent" almost always pertains to money; the word "rich" sometimes means "full of" as well as "wealthy".
