Jing-ying Tao is one of Taiwan's rising super stars. She was born in Taitung in 1969, but moved to Miaoli in 1971. Finally she moved to Taipei in 1977. At this point, she lives in Taipei. Her father is a public servant and her mother is a housekeeper. But she is a talented singer, actress, writer, dubbing artist, and host. She has published three CDs, one book, and manages many programs. She dubbed the movie, "A Bug's Life." Her most famous song is The Sky Doesn't Cry For Me. Miss Tao has won many prizes, such as modern performer in 1998. Besides, she takes charge of "Entertainment News" in TVBS and "Love Issues" on CTS. Both these programs helped her receive a nomination as the best host during the Golden Bell Awards this year. And she is a member of the "Little Yan Family" – a famous entertainers' group.
Jing-ying's book, which was published in July of 1998, is named "Ài yō" [Love!]. The preface of the book says that someone asked her to write a book six years ago, but she thought that her knowledge wasn't adequate at that time. Of course, she didn't promise to write. She still thinks she doesn't have enough knowledge even now. She just feels that if she doesn't write it down now, maybe she won't do anything in the future. She started to write with strokes, because of Yu-sheng's death. When a traffic accident happened to Yu-sheng, who is Miss Tao's good friend and a music producer, she was invited to write many articles about him. After he died, she decided to publish a book. When she saw him research music so hard, she just understood she has wasted much of her life. Yu-sheng's death reminded her life is unpredictable and ruthless. She really much hoped that Yu-sheng could leave much music for us. So she wants to write down something to record something. She also hopes to leave something for people after she dies.
Miss Tao is still single now. She hopes to find out someone who really loves her one-day. She is very young, but has achieved much. Many can learn from her spirit, then succeed in their own fields.
