    Bob Horne was an artist and writer who spent most of his life in New England. The eldest son of an electrical engineer named Emerson Horne (1910-1962) and an artist named Jean Price [Horne] Norman (1917-2000), he was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1940. As a youth he moved five times to various locations in the northeastern USA and had a difficult relationship with his father.
    After graduating from Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, New Hampshire, he obtained an associate degree in drafting from the New Hampshire Technical Institute. After that, he lived in various suburbs of Boston with a career in industrial design and drafting. When he was twenty-one, he met the poet Robert Lowell, who encouraged him to hone his writing skills further. In later life, Bob returned to school and earned an Associates Degree in Art History from Massasoit Communty College.
    From 1965 to 1970 Robert was married to Lola Heiler-Stillman and one daughter, Leeja Horne, was born. In 1976 he met Elaine Kanaber and they married the following year. Around this time he became a devotee of Satguru Ajaib Singh Ji and Bob traveled to India several times to be at his ashram. Bob's final years were spent drawing and writing. He died of a heart attack at the age of 69 in Concord, Massachusetts on May 11, 2009. His ashes were spread at three locations in New England.
