To Whom It May Concern:
From April 1985 to March 1986 Tim Newfields was my teacher at
the ECC College of Language and Communication. During that
period I studied international business English five days a week
under the guidance of about nine instructors. Naturally, each teacher had
their own way of working with students. What I remember about Tim's class
was his ability to develop good rapport and use the textbook not just as
a series of exercises, but in creative and lifelike ways.
Though Tim's classes focussed on speaking and listening,
we also did some writing and reading activities. Tim was
always concerned with freshness and creativity. His
down-to-earth approach also made it easy for many students to communicate
with him. To a large degree, Mr. Newfields inspired me to study English further and
eventually choose a career where English is used extensively.
I believe many students at ECC will remember Tim's dynamism,
humor, and commitment toward teaching. I am happy to recommend
him as a teacher.
