Melissa: I have no problem with people wasting massive amounts of time in front of their tellies.
Tim: Neither does Big Brother.
Melissa: I like to think of television as a harmless tranquilizer that keeps many people out of trouble.
Tim: It's a superb propaganda tool. And as people migrate from traditional TV towards the Internet,
no doubt governments will try to control that too.
Television Addiction 
The first TV was an obscenity. The second one was a crime. The third was an inevitability. 
And now it seems people can't live  unless their TVs are near them all the time.
Satoru: You know, aren't we better off without governments? Why can't people learn to govern themselves?
Liao: Do you think we operate in logical, Bayesian ways?
Satoru: Probably not. . . .
