A Grammar of Identity:

Some thoughts about multiple selves
A Grammar of Identity - an artwork by T Newfields
About eight hours a day I'm a worker-robot,
and six hours a day a breathing corpse.

About two hours a day I'm an amazing dreamer,
and for the same time an avid gobbler of texts.

About an hour a day I'm a language learner,
and the same time a beast consuming food.

About fourty minutes a day I'm a compassionate listener,
and an utter fool at least the same amount of time.

A few minutes each day I'm a magical creature,
wiggling each toe with joy.

With so many different "selves" appearing & disappearing
what fiction will you choose to invent
when asked, "who are you?"
