	1. When did the USA actually become a military power? Why?
	2. Where are US troops located today?
	3. What military alliances does the USA have?
	4. Is US military strength growing or waning (becoming less)? 
	5. Why did the USA get bogged down in Vietnam?

C. COUNTRY FOCUS - MAINLAND CHINA

	1. How strong is mainland China's military?
	2. Does China have a hi-tech or low-tech military?
	3. When did China join the "nuclear club"? (i.e. get an atomic bomb)
	4. Why did Japan attempt to colonize Manchuria? 
	5. How likely is mainland China to invade Taiwan?

D. COUNTRY FOCUS - RUSSIA

	1. Is the former Soviet Union still a potent military power?
